    Patent number 110141 in 1938.
    This BOOK PIECE is an Art Deco 1930's era work of art, unsigned Coro brooch, designed by Robert Geissmann. It is a poised in flight 'Screech Owl' figural brooch that is pave set with aged clear rhinestones and gray and black enamel.
    Patented 1938, Art Deco era, pre-WWII. Owl's eyes are enameled in yellow and black.
    This piece is so well designed and cast, with three-dimensional, edgy and curved features. Stones are set in textured matte finish.
    Measures 2.75" inches tall X 2.5" inches wide, from head to back wing.
    Highly collectible screech owl brooch made by the Coro jewelry company in the late 1930s.
    This piece is a well documented patented book piece. Reference to this brooch can be found on page 97 volume 1 “American Costume Jewelry Art & Industry” by Brunialti.
    Owl posed as swooping down on prey. This design came in a variety of colors, with rhinestones sometimes on the body. This particular brooch has hand painted enamel accented with gold rhinestones on the head.
    Substantial, weighty piece.

    Condition very good, with considerable enamel loss, chipping on wings, see pictures.
    Pin mechanism is loose yet works, pin bar has slight bend to it.
    Priced for it's condition.
    Circa 1930s.

    Pin is substantial and sturdy, and with some skilled love, it can be a masterpiece once again.
